Wicket has set itself the ambitious goal of eliminating the phenomenon of secondary ticketing from the Italian market. This practice has been declared illegal in many countries, while not enough has been done in Italy to solve this problem. The recent introduction of the nominal ticket has not convinced all the players in this sector and has not definitively solved the problem.
For those who do not know what secondary ticketing is, we will explain it to you: it consists in the purchase of large quantities of tickets by third companies which are then resold on their sites at prices up to 10 times higher. These companies have nothing to do with the event organizers and cause economic damage to both them and the participants. Once upon a time there were touts outside concerts or stadiums, now hacking is done online and there are many more people who are cheated.
Our solution makes it impossible for these companies to practice secondary ticketing: the tickets purchased are connected to the buyer’s phone number and can only be resold within our platform and at the price set by the organizer.
Our digital tickets are nominative, and the blockchain protocol we use allows you to update the information of the new ticket owner in the event of a resale: the event organizer will always be able to know who his real participants are, and this allows reaching significantly higher safety standards than in the past.
